A global movement deserves a global platform
Permaculture is a global movement, but finding projects, educators, and learning opportunities near you has never been easy. Teach Permaculture set out to change that by building a centralized platform where projects around the world could list themselves and where learners could discover them. Mithril built the infrastructure to make that vision real: a content-rich, community-driven website with an interactive global map at its core, a multi-step application workflow for joining the network, and a CMS that keeps stakeholders in control of their own content.

How we got there
The Problem
- Lack of centralized resources available for people to connect with permaculture projects
- Missing opportunity to build a community of like-minded, permaculture-focused projects, people and places
The Solution
An interactive global map was built as the centerpiece of the site, surfacing permaculture projects and learning opportunities by location and giving the community a visual sense of how far the movement reaches. A multi-step application form was created to let project leaders submit their work and join the platform through a structured, guided experience. CMS-driven content management was implemented throughout so the Teach Permaculture team can create, update, and curate listings without developer support. The site architecture was also built to accommodate advertising partnerships, opening revenue streams that support the platform's long-term sustainability.
